The passionate Porter Robinson and mind-boggling Madeon hit The Theatre @ Madison Square Garden for two sold out nights. Yes, Porter Robinson and Madeon - a crazy B2B show. A night of contagious, progressive, electro house - AKA The Shelter Live Tour.
Of course this combination is godly - euphoric dream/pop mixed with funky bass and glitch created the ultimate live aesthetic. Each transition was smoother than silk and the visuals outclassed any other tour I've been to this year. Their all new production design, emotive visual artistry, and perfectly syncopated live instrumentation, aligns the senses and causes your insides to tingle.
The two opened up their set with their hit collaboration 'Shelter' which Madeon sang live. Released in late August, 'Shelter' was such a hit amongst both Artists' fans that they launched an entire tour together. I'm greedy, so won't be fully satisfied until a spontaneous side project emerges from this electrifying tour.
You could really feel the magic of their mutual appreciation, when Porter introduced Madeon's 'Beings' with "Here is one of my favorite songs by Madeon" and went on to infectiously serenade us. The set wrapped up the way it started, closing with an acoustic version of 'Shelter'.
The stage tonight captured a genuine admiration and partnership that you don't often see with B2B tours. You don't want to miss an effervescent night of cutting edge technique, good vibes, and hopefully the ethereal discovery of a great new duo.
